- Plan, design, and administer construction of water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems
- Serve as a primary client contact and manage relationships with private, state, and local government clients
- Lead business development efforts, including responding to RFPs and developing proposals and presentations
- Shape project approaches, scopes, and fees, including risk identification and management
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle while adhering to budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical leadership and conduct quality control reviews
- Mentor project managers and junior staff
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities with new and existing clients
- Engage in industry organizations through committee leadership, conference presentations, publications, and professional involvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Substantial experience in consulting engineering within the water and wastewater industry, with increasing responsibility
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer
- Proven experience in successful project management, including leading teams, managing budgets and schedules, and coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Leadership ability with a passion for team building, mentoring, and developing staff
- Self‑motivated and eager to learn, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
- Additional experience in business development, proposal writing, and strategic planning preferred
- Familiarity with New England and New York water and wastewater regulations, permitting processes, and funding opportunities preferred
- Understanding of Revit use on multidisciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects preferred
- Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods, including design‑build, progressive design‑build, and construction manager at risk, preferred
- Additional licensure in multiple states preferred
