Job summary

Datawatch Systems is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate installations from pre-site visits through completion. You will work with installation teams, sales, customers, and third-party vendors to ensure on-time delivery and that work meets client expectations.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical, networking, and cabling, plus knowledge of safety codes. Local travel and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience installing commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and commercial wiring/cabling.
• Knowledge of building, fire, and life safety codes pertaining to construction and electrical systems.
• High School diploma/GED preferred; electronics/electrical trade certificate desirable.
• Strong electronics background (AC/DC theory, circuits) and testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Pre-installation site visits with sales to define proper scope of work.
• Coordinate with installation manager, customer service, permitting, and client on timelines.
• Supervise installation tasks: pulling cable, rough-in, conduit, cable terminations.
• Provide weekly project manager reports and updates.
• Stay informed on new services, technology, and internal processes.

Overview

The Project Manager interacts directly with the installation manager, client, client representatives, third party vendors, and our Program management team throughout the installation process.

Responsibilities include ensuring projects are completed successfully, on schedule, and the work performed meets or exceeds client expectations.

Schedule is 7 am - 3 pm, Monday - Friday. All applicants applying for a position at Datawatch Systems must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check. EOE/M/F/V/D. DCJS #11-2294.

• Travel: Yes (25%)
• Salary Range: $38. - $45.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Pre-installation job site visits with sales team to assist with generating proper scope of work
• Communicate with the installation manager, customer service, and permitting team, and client on project timeline and milestones
• Supervise and assist installation on pulling cable, rough in, installing conduit, terminate cables at device and headend.
• Provide updated project manager reports weekly
• Stays up to date and knowledgeable on new services, technology, and internal processes/procedures.

Qualifications

• 10 or more years’ experience installing:
• commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and commercial wiring/cabling OR
• Knowledge of building, fire, and life safety codes pertaining to construction and electrical systems
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Technical/Trade/Vocational school certificate in electronics/electrical is desirable
• Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters
• Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and CAT5 technologies preferred

Other Eligibility Requirements

• Must be able to meet and maintain various certifications, licenses, and/or registrations, in accordance with applicable state laws and as required by the electronic security regulations in the state (s) worked.
• Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation and drug screening.
• Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.
