Job summary

Datawatch Systems is seeking a Senior Field Systems Specialist to interact with installation managers, clients, and vendors throughout the installation process. The role ensures projects are completed on schedule and meet client expectations. The schedule is 7 am - 3 pm, Monday to Friday, with travel and pre-employment screenings required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience installing commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and cabling OR knowledge of building, fire, and life safety codes in construction/electrical systems.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Technical/Trade/Vocational certificate in electronics/electrical desirable.
• Strong electronics knowledge (AC/DC theory; circuits) and ability to use digital volt meters.
• Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, networking protocol and CAT5 technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-installation site visits with sales to assist with defining scope of work.
• Communicate with installation manager, customer service, permitting team, and client on timeline and milestones.
• Supervise and assist installation on pulling cable, rough in, conduit installation, cable termination.
• Provide updated project manager reports weekly.
• Stay up to date on new services, technology, and internal processes/procedures.

Overview

The SeniorField Systems Specialist interacts directly with the installation manager, client, client representatives, third party vendors, and our Program management team throughout the installation process.

Responsibilities include ensuring projects are completed successfully, on schedule, and the work performed meets or exceeds client expectations.

Schedule is 7 am - 3 pm, Monday - Friday. All applicants applying for a position at Datawatch Systems must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check. EOE/M/F/V/D. DCJS #11-2294.

• Location: Bethesda, MD
• Travel: 20-35%
• Pay Rate: $40 - $50.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Pre-installation job site visits with sales team to assist with generating proper scope of work
• Communicate with the installation manager, customer service, and permitting team, and client on project timeline and milestones
• Supervise and assist installation on pulling cable, rough in, installing conduit, terminate cables at device and headend.
• Provide updated project manager reports weekly
• Stays up to date and knowledgeable on new services, technology, and internal processes/procedures.

Qualifications

• 10 or more years’ experience installing:commercial access control, video systems, low voltage, and commercial wiring/cabling OR knowledge of building, fire, and life safety codes pertaining to construction and electrical systems
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Technical/Trade/Vocational school certificate in electronics/electrical is desirable
• Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters
• Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and CAT5 technologies preferred

Other Eligibility Requirements

• Must be able to meet and maintain various certifications, licenses, and/or registrations, in accordance with applicable state laws and as required by the electronic security regulations in the state (s) worked.
• Must be willing to participate in and pass the company’s pre-employment screening process including a background investigation and drug screening.
• Must continue to maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to fulfill the travel requirements of this position.
