Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Project Manager with a background in tooling and industrial equipment procurement and installation. The role leads end-to-end project execution for new equipment installations, upgrades, and tooling projects, onsite in Dublin, Virginia.

The position emphasizes team collaboration, delegation, and strong communication to manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships. A mechanical/industrial engineering background and 4+ years of PM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Mechanical or general engineering background with strong communication and leadership skills.
• Preferred: PMP or equivalent certification; experience with tooling and equipment installation.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for tooling and equipment projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams incl. engineering, operations, maintenance, and suppliers.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with purchasing for pricing alignment with vendors.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment and tooling.
• Ensure safety standards during installation and hand off to maintenance/quality.
• Track project costs and adhere to budgets; prepare stakeholder/status reports.

Project Manager – Tooling & Industrial Equipment Procurement and Installation

Location: Dublin, Virginia (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in tooling and industrial equipment procurement and installation. This role will lead end-to-end project execution for new equipment installations, upgrades, and tooling projects. The position is created to support an increased project load and will focus on bringing a product in-house, requiring a team-oriented approach with strong delegation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for tooling and equipment projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, maintenance, and suppliers.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal purchasing buyers for pricing alignment with vendors, who are typically pre-selected.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment and tooling.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards during installation.
• Validate equipment performance and complete a handoff to maintenance, quality, and other departments.
• Track project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders and management.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 4+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with a mechanical or general engineering background.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and an agile mindset.
• Proficiency in project management tools, with MS Project preferred for larger projects and Excel for smaller ones.
• Sufficient technical understanding to communicate effectively with workers and grasp tool intricacies.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with tooling and equipment installation.
• Experience with 3-D printing, such as Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).
• Experience working with vendors.
