Job summary

Susser Bank is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple technology initiatives that align with the bank’s strategy. You will coordinate business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, while complying with banking regulations.

The role requires proven multi‑project leadership across Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches, with strong communication and ability to tailor delivery to project size and risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related is required.
  • Proven experience managing multiple technology initiatives in parallel.
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Ability to scale project management rigor based on project size and risk.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions such as system implementations, data/cloud/infrastructure, security or regulatory-driven changes.

Job description

The Project Manager at Susser Bank will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering multiple projects that support banks technology strategy. The PM acts as the central coordinator between business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and different stakeholders within the bank to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with banking regulations. The ideal candidate has proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a solid understanding of both Waterfall and Agile ways of working. They are adaptable and capable of leading small, medium, and large-scale initiatives, effectively tailoring their approach based on project complexity, stakeholder needs, and delivery methodology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Initiation
  • Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, and delivery approach (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).
  • Develop and maintain an integrated project plan that outlines milestones, timelines, dependencies, and resource needs.
  • Ensure alignment between business goals, technical approaches, and regulatory considerations.
Execution & Delivery Management
  • Lead day‑to‑day execution of the project plan, ensuring work progress as scheduled.
  • Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to keep delivery on track.
  • Adapt delivery rigor based on project size, risk, and complexity.
  • Ensure deliverables meet agreed‑upon quality standards.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
  • Act as the central point of coordination between business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and partners.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and provide clear, concise updates on progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and drive timely resolution.
Scope, Schedule & Budget Control
  • Manage scope to prevent uncontrolled changes and ensure alignment with approved objectives.
  • Track project timelines, milestones, and budget, taking corrective action when variances occur.
  • Lead change control and change request processes when adjustments are required.
  • Proactively identify, document, and manage project risks and issues.
  • Maintain risk registers and ensure mitigation and response strategies are defined and tracked.
  • Ensure risks are regularly reviewed and communicated with stakeholders.
Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure projects follow Susser Bank standards, governance expectations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain required project documentation and audit‑ready artifacts.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and compliance requirements relevant to banking and technology initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with vendors and implementation partners.
  • Ensure vendors deliver according to statements of work, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Track vendor dependencies, deliverables, and risks.
Reporting & Executive Visibility
  • Provide accurate, timely project status reporting to leadership.
  • Highlight key accomplishments, milestones, upcoming work, risks, and decisions needed.
  • Support executive decision‑making through clear, fact‑based communication.
Education, Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related, required.
  • Proven experience managing multiple technology initiatives in parallel.
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Ability to scale project management rigor based on project size and risk.
  • Experience in management of delivering technology solutions such as:
  • System implementations and upgrades
  • Data, cloud, or infrastructure initiatives
  • Security or regulatory-driven technology changes
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) – PMI.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Experience with Office 365 administration and enterprise collaboration platforms.
