Senior IT Project Manager We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex retail banking technology, software development, integration, and vendor implementation projects. This individual will own projects from planning through delivery and work closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple technology and business projects.
- Own project scope, schedules, resources, risks, issues, budgets, communications, and status reporting.
- Lead cross-functional teams through successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and work breakdown structures.
- Partner with SMEs to identify requirements, estimates, dependencies, and resource needs.
- Coordinate resources within a matrixed organization and obtain commitments from functional managers.
- Identify project dependencies and critical paths.
- Track deliverables, milestones, risks, issues, and action items to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Manage competing constraints across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide clear communication to sponsors, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
- Prepare status reports, presentations, meeting minutes, risk/issue updates, and executive-level communications.
- Manage scope changes and ensure adherence to established change-control processes.
- Support vendor implementations and technical integrations across the retail banking environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification required.
- 10+ years of project management experience , preferably within banking or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience managing software development, technical integration, vendor implementation, or business operations projects.
- Strong understanding of distributed and mainframe infrastructure, technologies, and concepts.
- Ability to quickly understand new technologies, applications, and business processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with executive sponsors, business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and resource managers.
- Strong planning, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including occasional weekends, when required.
