Job description

We are excited to be looking for a new team member to help us do what we love to do; build, remodel, challenge ourselves, create beautiful spaces and provide a valuable partnership and positive experience for our clients. We understand perfection is not always attainable, but we chase it, and we certainly strive to exceed expectations and go far beyond minimum quality standards.

Most of the work we do is residential remodel. Projects range from medium sized repairs to full house remodels, some new construction, ADU’s, house lifts and the occasional small commercial renovation.

We also love to build recording studios and music spaces when they come along. A primary goal of our company is to increase our focus on sustainable, highly efficient, and environmentally/human friendly construction. Having a shared passion for better buildings is something we are looking for in a team member.

What we are seeking is a person with a thoughtful approach and drive to learn and grow with our company. The majority of this role will involve taking the reins once a Project Development Contract is signed and managing the job from start to finish. Much of what we do is custom work and involves working closely with customers to solve problems, manage selections and find all the little details/issues that must be resolved to make the job a success. Not having all the answers all the time is OK. Knowing when to ask for help or research alternatives methods is encouraged. There will be times when the situation calls for any one of us to throw on our tool bags or grab a broom to get the job done. We are a team, and we all help each other when needed.

  • A solutions-oriented mindset and desire to get the best out of our subcontractors and carpentry team.
  • Manage all aspects of residential construction projects from pre-con until completed job.
  • Develop costs estimates, work scope and final proposals for the projects you will be running.
  • Be in open communication with Clients and Architects on a regular basis.
  • Read and understand plans and construction documents.
  • Use construction software to maintain schedules, change orders, and project details.
  • Schedule all trades and guide them through their work, setting expectations for quality and precision.
  • Track and manage construction budget during entirety of project.
  • Manage in-house labor for project and direct the work as well as handle all material procurement.
  • Problem solve as issues arise with a solutions-oriented focus to affect the best possible project outcome.
  • Make sure all subcontractors have everything they need from us to perform their job correctly.
  • Review and approve all subcontractor invoices and other payment requests.
  • Keep updated change order logs, communicate change orders to clients quickly.
  • Keep up to date on client billings.
  • Work 40 hrs per week, with availability for some early starts or later days as needed.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of remodeling older homes.
  • 5+ years experience in single family residential construction field.
  • 2+ years single family construction project management role.
  • Extensive computer skills with advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • High adaptability to new technologies (know how to use a smart phone).
  • Skilled with scheduling and project management software.
  • Thorough understanding of how to perform all aspects of a construction project, including sub trades.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • In depth knowledge of building science and exterior envelope design/water and air management.
  • Very skilled communicator.
  • Exceptional knowledge of structural systems and building codes
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safe building practices.
  • Polished carpentry skills and the willingness to occasionally get dirty and lead by example.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College experience not required.
