Lead Security Operations at a Key University Account
GardaWorld Security Services is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead security operations for a major university account in Towson, Maryland.
This is an opportunity for an operations-focused leader who knows how to manage people, keep a complex security operation running smoothly, and build strong relationships with both employees and clients. You will oversee a large-scale operation with multiple security posts, lead and support the security team, maintain staffing and scheduling, and serve as a key GardaWorld partner to the client.

- Schedule: Full-time salaried position with primary responsibility for overnight security operations. Core overnight coverage operates approximately 10:45p.m.–6:45 a.m. The Project Manager will have flexibility in structuring their schedule based on operational needs and must also be available periodically during daytime hours for meetings, hiring activities, administrative responsibilities, and other business needs.

Your Responsibilities
Lead Security Operations
- Oversee day-to-day security operations across multiple posts within the account.
- Ensure posts are appropriately staffed and security services are delivered consistently.
- Maintain schedules and proactively address call-offs, vacancies, attendance issues, and other coverage needs.
- Provide leadership, coaching, direction, and accountability to security personnel.
- Ensure officers understand and consistently follow post orders, policies, procedures, and client expectations.
- Respond appropriately to operational issues and incidents and escalation concerns when necessary.
- Maintain a strong, reliable operation while identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
Manage Staffing and Workforce Needs
- Partner with recruiting and branch leadership to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning as needed.
- Anticipate staffing needs and maintain appropriate backup coverage.
- Manage scheduling, timekeeping, payroll-related activities, and other routine workforce administration.
- Help retain strong employees by establishing clear expectations, providing consistent leadership, and maintaining professional working relationships.
Build a Strong Client Partnership
- Serve as a primary GardaWorld contact for the client.
- Develop and maintain trusted, professional relationships with client leadership and key stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication regarding security operations, staffing, incidents, and service needs.
- Understand the client's expectations and ensure the security team consistently delivers against them.
- Identify concerns early and work collaboratively with GardaWorld and client leadership to resolve them.
- Represent GardaWorld professionally in meetings, calls, and other client interactions.
Maintain Operational and Administrative Excellence
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, schedules, and required documentation.
- Monitor account performance and ensure contractual and company requirements are met.
- Review operational data and use it to identify staffing, performance, or service trends.
- Prepare professional reports and client communications.
- Partner with GardaWorld branch leadership and internal teams to support successful account performance.
Your Qualifications:
- Authorized to work in the United States
- 3+ years of security operations, account management, project management, or comparable operational leadership experience
- Experience supervising or managing employees across multiple posts, locations, shifts, or operating areas
- Demonstrated experience with employee scheduling, staffing, attendance, and coverage management
- Experience working directly with clients or key business stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach employees, set expectations, and hold teams accountable
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other business systems
- Ability to maintain the licensing and credentials required for the position
Experience leading security operations in a university, corporate campus, healthcare, government, defense, large commercial facility, or contract security environment is valuable.
Previous law enforcement or military experience may also be beneficial but is not required. We are primarily looking for demonstrated leadership, operational management, client-service skills, and the ability to successfully manage a large security operation.
