Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager to lead electrical transmission routing and substation siting projects for utilities and independent developers in the United States. The role involves project management, environmental permitting expertise, staff mentoring, and business development, including proposals and reports to move projects toward closure cost-effectively.

The position supports locations across the U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, engineering, or related field.
8+ years in related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience executing routing and siting projects is desirable.
Advanced skills in technical writing.
Strong client communication and regulatory interface experience.

Responsibilities

Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budget.
Manage and lead routing and siting studies for linear energy projects.
Contribute to and lead business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clients.
Interact with clients and environmental regulators.
Prepare contract documents.
Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
Execute specific technical tasks or requirements for medium to large projects.
Conduct peer reviews of work by colleagues.
Plan and conduct assignments and/or projects having broad scope for independent accomplishment.
