Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager, Overhead Contact System, for our Sacramento office. This is an on-site role managing 25kV AC railway electrification work from design through commissioning on a major transportation project.

You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule and budget, coordinate with traction power, signaling, track and structures, and drive safety and energization readiness. Travel will be 25–50% along the Central Valley alignment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience delivering 25kV AC OCS systems.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces with utilities and regulators.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% along the project alignment.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of OCS systems from design through handover.
• Maintain accountability for scope, schedule, budget, risk, and milestones.
• Coordinate delivery with traction power, signaling, and other disciplines.
• Lead testing activities including FAT, SAT, and energization programs.
• Ensure safety, outage planning, and regulatory approvals.
• Coordinate with utilities, regulators, operators, and authorities.
