Job summary

Maricopa County Flood Control District seeks a Project Manager to oversee planning, design, and development of complex flood risk reduction public works projects. Lead multi‑project efforts from concept through construction at the intersection of engineering, environmental planning, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional engineering experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by another state's board with the ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months of employment.
• Valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and guidance in project development.
• Manage and coordinate with consulting engineers, planners, and other staff to assure proper execution of all project phases, including design and construction documents; may seal documents with PE stamp.
• Plan the work and direct development of project design, scope, schedules, budgets, and specifications; resolve complex problems and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, review plans and reports, cost estimates, public exhibits, and other deliverables.
• Prepare, negotiate, and maintain project authorizations, MOUs, Resolutions, IGAs; present to Boards on projects and authorizations.
• Present projects at public meetings; evaluate stakeholders and public concerns; maintain project status with stakeholders.
• Participate in consultant selections and contract negotiations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Environmental, Mechanical, etc.)
