Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee planning, design and development of complex flood control public works projects. You will manage multiple high-impact projects from concept through construction, coordinating with engineers, planners, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.

The role requires a PE license, civil engineering experience, and a driver’s license, with a hybrid work schedule and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Two years of professional engineering experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona Board or another state's board with ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months.
• Valid Arizona driver's license by time of hire.
• Four or more years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Experience with flood control projects.
• Experience in development of design of public works civil projects and construction plans and specs.
• Experience directing consultants, contract management, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in project development.
• Coordinate with consulting engineers, planners, and staff to execute all phases from design to construction.
• Direct development of scope, schedules, budgets, criteria, standards, and specifications; seal documents with PE stamp if required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; review plans, reports, and cost estimates; prepare authorizations and MOUs.
• Present projects to boards and public meetings; manage stakeholder concerns.
• Participate in consultant selections and contract negotiations.
