Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading energy infrastructure organisation to recruit a Project Manager for high-voltage overhead line construction in Germany. The role is hybrid with multiple German locations and a permanent, full-time contract.

The successful candidate will oversee delivery from planning through handover, combining technical project management with commercial responsibility. A Civil Engineering degree and German project experience are expected.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
• Experience managing projects within the construction sector.
• Experience in overhead line construction, transmission or power infrastructure is advantageous.
• Knowledge of VOB and BGB contract law.
• Strong commercial awareness and project budgeting experience.
• Experience working with subcontractors and construction site teams.
• Structured, independent approach to project delivery.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel across Germany.
• Class B driving licence.

Responsibilities

JAM Recruitment is working with a leading international energy infrastructure organisation that is expanding its project delivery team in Germany.

The business is part of a major global infrastructure group and has an established presence across the energy, transmission and power infrastructure sectors, delivering large-scale projects supporting the continued expansion and modernisation of Germany's electricity network.

Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Project Manager - Overhead Line Construction to take responsibility for major high-voltage projects of up to 400 kV.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in overhead lines, transmission infrastructure or construction project management to join a well-established business with a strong project pipeline and long-term career opportunities.

The Role

As Project Manager, you'll take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of high-voltage overhead line construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects.

You'll be involved from initial planning through to final handover, combining technical project management with commercial and operational responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Managing high-voltage overhead line projects up to 400 kV
• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery, budget, programme and commercial performance
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements
• Supporting project calculations, tenders and quotation preparation
• Managing project measurements, valuations and billing
• Working closely with construction management to determine efficient assembly and construction methods
• Selecting and managing subcontractors
• Coordinating materials, machinery, tools, equipment and site resources
• Managing customer relationships and key project stakeholders
• Monitoring project quality and programme performance
• Ensuring the successful and timely handover of completed works
• Identifying project risks and proactively resolving technical, commercial and operational challenge

About You

We're looking for a technically strong Project Manager who understands the demands of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

You'll ideally have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical qualification
• Previous experience managing projects within the construction sector
• Experience in overhead line construction, transmission or power infrastructure would be highly advantageous
• Practical knowledge of VOB and BGB contract law
• Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
• Experience working with subcontractors and construction site teams
• A structured, independent approach to project delivery
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel across Germany
• A Class B driving licence
