Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will join the Germany Design & Construction team and take on an operational role, primarily supporting the Senior Project Manager during the transfer phase of data center construction projects.

The role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle — from permitting and authorizations through to final delivery — and offers a strong learning and development opportunity, with a gradual increase in responsibility. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong potential and initial experience in construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Manager, you will contribute to the delivery of design and construction projects in Germany, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and schedule requirements, in close collaboration with the Senior Project Manager.

Types of projects:

  • Data centers
  • Electrical power supply infrastructure
  • Campus-wide works (underground networks, utilities, etc.)
  • Office buildings
  • Post-handover fit-out works (IT rooms, offices)

Administrative phase

  • Support in managing administrative procedures (permits, regulatory authorizations)
  • Coordination with architects, design offices, and authorities until permits are obtained

Design phase

  • Participation in meetings with clients and internal stakeholders to define project requirements
  • Monitoring of technical design and verification of compliance with project specifications
  • Interface between Design and Operations teams

Construction & commissioning phase

  • Day-to-day monitoring of on-site progress with the Senior Project Manager
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards
  • Coordination with key stakeholders and service providers (energy suppliers, inspection bodies, design offices, etc.)
  • Interface with clients (hyperscalers and key accounts) throughout the project
  • Participation in commissioning activities and preparation of internal technical handover

Project handover & acceptance

  • Support the transition from construction to operations
  • Assist with the collection and verification of technical documentation (as-built drawings, procedures, training materials)
  • Coordination with Operations teams to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer
  • Contribution to client reporting and delivery of project deliverables
  • Organization of training sessions and on-site onboarding for operational teams

Project management & support

  • Participation in project meetings and preparation of minutes and follow-up action lists
  • Preparation of project reports in English for internal stakeholders and clients
  • Budget tracking in collaboration with Finance and Project teams
  • Contribution to continuous improvement of project management tools and processes

Additional responsibilities

  • Support for environmental certification processes (e.g. BREEAM)
  • Assistance with implementation of environmental policies (waste management, carbon reduction initiatives)
  • Participation in commercial and pre-sales activities for complex technical solutions
  • Contribution to client audits when required
  • Support in the deployment of internal tools (e.g. Oracle, Unifier) for risk management, reporting, and cost tracking
REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience

  • Engineering degree (civil engineering, electrical engineering, general engineering, or urban planning/development)
  • 5+ years’ experience in construction projects or real estate development, site supervision, and project coordination
  • International exposure or the ability to work in a multicultural environment is a plus

Technical skills

  • Languages: German and English (excellent written and verbal communication skills)
  • Technical knowledge in construction: HVAC, electrical systems (low and high voltage), safety systems, structure, and finishes
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Oracle or Unifier is a plus
  • Awareness of HSE regulations and sustainable construction practices

Behavioral skills

  • Hands-on, site-oriented mindset
  • Structured, reliable, and methodical
  • Proactive with strong communication skills
  • Strong willingness to learn, grow, and develop in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working in an agile and uncertain context
  • Ability to take initiative, move projects forward, and find solutions
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused with a service-oriented mindset
