Job summary

Harvard Bioscience is seeking a Project Manager to plan and execute new product development initiatives in Minneapolis, MN, with global travel to Asia. The role reports to the VP of Research and Development and requires strong cross-functional coordination across hardware and systems development.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience in engineering or product development, fluency in English and Mandarin, and a PMP or similar certification is highly preferred.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

The company is looking for an energetic Project Manager to plan and execute activities for new product development. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered within scope, on-time, and within budget. This role is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and require travel to our office in Asia and speak Mandarin and reports to the Vice President, Research and Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources (internal and external to department and company) in an effective and efficient manner
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Track project costs to meet budget
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Report project status on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed
  • Measure and report project performance to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications
  • Must have be able to speak fluently in English and Mandarin to ensure timely and high quality products in China.
  • Working experience in engineering or product development environment
  • Ability to manage complex projects to develop ecosystems of hardware and systems
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a technical field
  • 5+ years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other certification strongly preferred
