LRS Retirement Solutions is seeking a Project Manager Intern for summer 2027 at our Springfield, IL headquarters. The role involves day-to-day PM tasks, meetings, documentation, and participation in multiple implementation projects, including configuring PensionGold for customers.

Project Manager Intern – Summer Internship Program

We are seeking students in Business Administration, Information Systems or related fields for our 2027 summer internship program. Interns will be competitively selected to join our Retirement Solutions team. We offer hands‑on experience in a casual, yet professional work environment, making it an excellent place to learn and grow. Interns will be based at our corporate headquarters in Springfield, Illinois (temporary housing may be available). Applicants must be available for full‑time work from mid‑May to mid‑August 2027.

Core Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day project task management.

Applicant Requirements

• Must have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework, including six courses related to Business Administration, or have at least one year of professional working experience in a Project Management role.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Candidates should be self‑motivated, able to work independently, and capable of collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills will enhance your candidacy.

LRS Retirement Solutions has been the leading provider of defined benefit pension administration software and services since 1987. Designed for today’s emerging web technologies, our PensionGold software is a browser‑based retirement solution with comprehensive features tailored specifically for defined benefit pension plans. The LRS Retirement Solutions group is one of several divisions within LRS. The division Vice President leads a group of managers overseeing Implementations, Product Development, Product Support, and Sales. As a member of the Implementations team, you will report to a manager and interact regularly with team members, other employees, and customers. A typical implementation project team comprises 5‑6 key resources, supplemented by additional resources as needed to meet the specific requirements of each project.

Internship Terms

This internship is a temporary, full‑time internship for summer 2027 with a pay rate of $18/hour. Internships have the potential to lead to permanent positions based on the future needs of the organization. Temporary housing may be available.
