We are partnering with an established industrial manufacturer to hire a Project Manager. Our client designs and builds engineered equipment and custom metal fabrication for power generation, data center, and other industrial markets. They work with OEMs, enclosure manufacturers, and contractors, and they're known for engineering excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction.
About the Role
This role reports directly to the CEO/COO and leads large-scale projects, typically valued at $5 million or more, from kickoff through delivery and closeout. You'll be the customer's primary point of contact and own scope, schedule, budget, margin, and change management. You'll work across Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Sales, and Estimating to keep one coordinated project plan.

Responsibilities
- Lead projects from charter and kickoff through delivery, startup support, and closeout
- Set and maintain the approved scope, budget, schedule, and commercial baseline
- Build an integrated schedule covering approvals, engineering releases, procurement, production, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and shipment
- Track costs against estimates and maintain an accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC)
- Monitor margin, billing milestones, and financial exposure
- Lead regular project reviews with customers and internal teams
- Manage submittals, drawing approvals, and technical documentation
- Identify scope changes early and secure customer approval before changed work proceeds
- Coordinate with Purchasing on long-lead materials and with Operations on capacity
- Plan logistics for large and oversize shipments
- Report project status, risks, and change orders to leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management in industrial manufacturing
- Proven track record managing individual projects valued at $5 million or more
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, scope changes, and cross-functional teams
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and welding
- Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Experience with ERP systems and Excel
- Strong negotiation skills on change orders and scope
- Ability to lead teams without direct authority
Preferred
- Engineered-to-order, design-to-order, or custom fabrication background
- Power generation, data center, marine, or heavy industrial projects
- Experience working with EPCs, general contractors, or OEMs
- PMP certification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
Work Environment and Travel
- Office-based with regular time on the manufacturing floor, PPE required
- Up to 25% travel for customer meetings, site visits, FAT, and installation support
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $105,000 to $135,000 depending on experience
- 120 hours PTO, 8 paid holidays, and 2 floating holidays
