Job summary

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager II in Ventura, California. The role involves directing project initiation, planning, execution, and closure across core project management disciplines while coordinating with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of PM experience in the field, a bachelor’s degree, and strong skills in MS Project and Excel. Hybrid work schedule is offered in Southern California with exposure to electric utility projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience with projects in the field.
  • Electric utility experience required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Power BI preferred.
  • Must be local to Southern California; working hybrid work schedule.

  • Manages multiple moderately complex projects effectively using project management principles, tools, and techniques under time constraints, shifting priorities, and making critical decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Directs project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure for core disciplines of project management (scope, schedule, and budget) independently.
  • Collaborates with peer Project Managers, department/division senior leadership, and other stakeholders to drive projects forward.
  • Manages planning, development, and/or execution of electric transmission/distribution projects, including wildfire, infrastructure replacement, load growth, poles, line upgrades, etc.
  • Drives milestones and reports on medium to large transmission/distribution projects including designs, schedules, regulatory filings, and agency coordination.
  • Facilitates progress of development plans, work packages, testing procedures, and energization sequences.
  • Resolves issues and ensures task completion by prioritizing and resolving conflicts with team members and managers.
  • Communicates effectively, maintains positive relationships, and uses tact with multiple parties.

Hill International is seeking a Project Manager II in Ventura, California.

Responsibilities
  • Manages multiple moderately complex projects effectively using project management principles, tools, and techniques under time constraints, shifting priorities, and making critical decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible for directing project initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure for core disciplines of project management (scope, schedule, and budget) independently.
  • Collaborates with peer Project Managers, department/division senior leadership, and other stakeholders’ departments as a key consultant to provide recommendations to drive projects forward.
  • Manages planning, development, and/or execution of electric transmission/distribution projects, which may include wildfire, infrastructure replacement, load growth, poles, line upgrades, maintenance, installations, etc.
  • Drives milestones and reports on medium to large transmission and/or distribution projects which may include designs, schedules, projects applications, compliance and safety documentation, regulatory filings, and local and state agency coordination.
  • Facilitates the progress of development plans, work packages, testing procedures, and energization sequences.
  • Resolves issues and ensures task completion by establishing priorities and resolving conflicts with team members and functional managers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with impact, maintain positive working relationships, and exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with multiple parties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience with projects in the field.
  • Electric utility experience required.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Construction management experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Power BI preferred.
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Must be local to Southern California; working hybrid work schedule.
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicant’s qualifications, education, experience and work location.
