Mortenson Construction is seeking a Project Manager I/II to lead project quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the team. The role emphasizes developing strong customer relationships through excellent service and collaboration with owners and field staff.

Candidates may apply for either level based on experience; base pay is determined by experience and location, with opportunities to advance within a project portfolio and Mortenson’s incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or architectural Eng or Construction Management, or equivalent
• Current driver's license
• Ability to travel up to 100%
• Proven ability to handle complex projects
• Attention to detail for managing multiple tasks
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate MS Office and project tools
• Ability to interpret Mortenson policies
• Strong communication and active listening

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects including subcontracts and suppliers
• Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate project estimate into financial system
• Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment
• Create monthly owner billings and handle billings and contract management including contract buyouts
• Oversee budget for and select trade partners and suppliers
• Lead/Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s), assign work and support career development
• Approve timecards for on-site team members and provide feedback
• Serve as main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative; review owner agreement and resolve site concerns
• Execute/Manage change orders and obtain customer/architect approval
• Maintain schedule and budget through project completion with focus on quality, risk, safety and compliance
