BKV Group seeks a talented Project Manager I with 8-12+ years of architecture and project management experience to join our Chicago team. The role covers project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, and contract documentation across all design phases, with emphasis on multi-family projects.

Candidates should be proficient with Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft Office; professional registration is preferred and LEED AP is optional.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing fee letters, fee scenarios and contracts with the leadership team.
  • Determine project scope, schedule and design team budgets to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Create work plans and weekly staffing to uphold budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate design criteria across disciplines and manage updates during design and documentation.
  • Prepare and oversee contract documents for issuance and provide direction on drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain regular client and team communication and lead project kickoff and status meetings.
  • Record scope changes and prepare additional services for client issuance.
  • Mentor project team and oversee quality assurance throughout the project.

Job description

BKV Group seeks a talented Project Manager I with 8-12+ years of architecture and project management experience to join our team. We are looking for someone with architectural project management experience in all phases of design and documentation, ideally with Multi-family project expertise. Project related responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with the Managing Partner/Practice Leader and/or Senior Project Manager in preparing fee letters, fee scenarios and contracts.
  • Determine the project scope, schedule, and design team budgets. Maintain identified deadlines and budgets on assigned projects.
  • Create a work plan and complete weekly staff scheduling in order to uphold project budgets and deadlines.
  • Work with the team to comply with client design criteria, managing updates and disseminating to all other disciplines, throughout the progress of design and documentation.
  • Prepare and oversee contract documents for issuance. Implement design and production drawings with limited involvement in utilizing Revit, providing direction to project team members working directly in Revit engaged in preparation of drawings and specification documents.
  • Maintain regular communication with the client, the Managing Partner, and the project team members, including chairing project phase kickoff meetings, weekly team meetings, quality assurance page flip meetings, etc. Provide timely communication and guidance to all disciplines and consultants.
  • Record project scope changes, prepare additional services for tracking and issuance to the client as directed by the Managing Partner.
  • Provide mentoring to the project team.
  • Responsible for the overall management and contractual fee and budgets of the team effort throughout the project, in coordination with the discipline leads and project team.
  • Ensure quality assurance/technical reviews are implemented as part of the overall project delivery process. May provide internal quality peer reviews of projects not under their direct control.
  • Adhere to the BKV Code Policy, working with the BKV Code Specialist to review and document code review requirements and meet with the respective authority having jurisdiction to obtain review and approval of the plans for code compliance.
  • Work with the project team and BKV Discipline Directors to support construction services and ensure design intent during construction.
Qualifications
  • Professional registration preferred.
  • Proficient with Revit, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • LEED AP optional.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Compensation range: $115,000 - $130,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
