Job summary

Branco Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for heavy-highway and civil construction in Southwest Missouri.

You will oversee materials, equipment, and labor to ensure timely, cost-efficient project completion, coordinating with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams. Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, managing contracts and pay requests, reviewing drawings, and supporting estimating activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of heavy-civil construction experience required.
• Experience with water/wastewater treatment, bridges, highways, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, paving is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to read drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for project profitability.
• Prepare and maintain the master project schedule and update as necessary.
• Ensure project completion in compliance with documents and quality standards.
• Determine cost-effective construction methods, personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate activities with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Manage contracts, pay requests, change orders, RFIs, and ASIs with owners/engineers.
• Create and manage subcontracts and purchase orders; coordinate scopes of work.
• Review shop drawings/submittals for compliance with specifications.
• Prepare monthly WIP reports; recommend actions on overruns.
• Generate and submit pay applications and change proposals; prepare change orders.
• Assist estimating activities as needed.

Position Summary

Responsible for managing materials, equipment, and labor for day-to-day activities to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of heavy-highway and civil construction projects. Works closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners to deliver projects in compliance with contract documents and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of heavy-civil construction experience required
• Heavy-civil experience in one or more of the following: water and wastewater treatment, bridge, highway, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, paving
• Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings
• Proficiency with scheduling software (MS Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies

Work Environment / Travel

Based in Southwest Missouri with travel to project sites as needed; work is performed in both office and field environments.
