Job summary

Otter Tail Power Company is seeking a Project Manager I or II to lead generation-related projects, overseeing scope, schedule, cost, and risk from development through construction and closeout. The role emphasizes safety, governance, and stakeholder alignment in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to Manager Project Management I, Development Engineering Construction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery within approved budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of project management or related experience for Project Manager I.
• 5+ years of project management experience for Project Manager II, including multiple or complex projects.
• Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the project lifecycle: development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover to operations.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with safety plans and practices.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate workforce requirements; manage risks to timelines.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and forecasts; track variances; ensure cost control and recovery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; maintain a risk register.
• Oversee procurement, contracts, and coordination of consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Collaborate with landowners, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders for permitting and environmental compliance.
• Provide timely, accurate project updates; facilitate meetings; communicate across stakeholders.
• Foster a positive team environment; coordinate cross-functional teams; lead conflict resolution.
