Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Manager, Field Services/NETA IV based in the United States.

Join a dynamic electrical power services environment where safety, technical excellence, and operational reliability are at the forefront of every project. In this role, you will oversee electrical maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting projects involving low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems up to 500 kV. You will coordinate field teams, manage project budgets, and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout each assignment. Working closely with sales and account management teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and within scope. Although the position offers remote work arrangements, at least half of your responsibilities will be performed in the field. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical project professional to take ownership of complex technical assignments and contribute to the reliability of critical power infrastructure.

Accountabilities
  • Manage electrical field service projects involving inspection, testing, troubleshooting, startup, and data collection for low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems up to 500 kV.
  • Oversee moderately complex protective relay calibration and power metering activities, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with applicable safety procedures.
  • Participate in project pre-planning, site walkthroughs, and coordination with sales teams to develop accurate estimates and quotations.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to field technicians, ensuring efficient resource allocation and effective execution of project activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery, attending meetings, providing progress updates, and resolving operational issues.
  • Identify opportunities to expand project scope and coordinate potential additional services with customers and account managers.
  • Communicate changes in project scope and additional billable work to the appropriate account management teams.
  • Monitor project budgets by tracking technicians' working hours, material usage, and associated costs to maintain financial control.
  • Conduct final site walkthroughs with customers before energization, verify completion against the agreed scope, and support a successful startup.
  • Compile, review, and validate technical project reports before submitting them to production management.
  • Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule and respond promptly to customer emergencies when required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required. An associate degree from an accredited two-year technical college in electrical power or a related field is preferred. Equivalent technical training or experience in military electrical power programs, such as Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or Navy Seabee programs, is also valued.
  • At least five years of experience managing electrical maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, or switchgear commissioning projects.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting for power distribution systems, including high-voltage equipment up to 500 kV.
  • Experience with several of the following technologies and procedures is preferred: Doble software, automated current transformer (CT) testing equipment, PowerDB, RTS or ProTest relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, automatic transfer switching, switchgear startup, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • NETA certification is an advantage but is not mandatory.
  • General computer proficiency, including email, internet navigation, data entry, and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with PowerDB is a plus.
  • Relevant safety training or certifications, including OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR, First Aid, bloodborne pathogens (BBP), and automated external defibrillator (AED) training, is beneficial. Additional training may be provided.
  • Strong project management, planning, budgeting, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate field personnel and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills, including the ability to provide clear project updates, address concerns, and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety, electrical safety procedures, and established industry standards.
  • Willingness to perform substantial fieldwork, participate in emergency on-call rotations, and respond to customer needs as required.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly compensation: $70 per hour.
  • Full-time employment with opportunities to manage complex electrical power service projects.
  • Remote work arrangement combined with hands‑on field responsibilities and direct customer interaction.
  • Professional development opportunities through exposure to advanced electrical testing, commissioning, and power system maintenance projects.
  • Safety training support: Training may be provided for relevant safety certifications and programs, depending on requirements.
  • Technical career growth: Opportunities to apply and strengthen expertise in electrical power systems, field service operations, and project leadership.
  • Equal opportunity workplace: Qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  • Drug-free workplace focused on safe and responsible field operations.
