Job summary

Great Place Construction (GPC) is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator in Training to work under an experienced construction manager in Sioux Falls, SD. You will help plan, budget, and deliver commercial projects while learning to estimate costs and coordinate with the on-site team.

The position emphasizes growth from the ground floor, with opportunities for advancement and a chance to gain broad experience in planning, submittals, cost estimation, and project administration.

Qualifications

• Developmental position in project management and/or estimating.
• Interest in learning budgeting and cost estimation for construction projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with designers and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plan review and coordination with designers and Project Manager.
• Review submittals and coordinate with teams to keep work on schedule.
• Create and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Develop preliminary budgets and take-offs for bids and proposals.
• Support job cost management and coordination with the on-site team.

GPC is a private construction firm that specializes in commercial building projects. We are looking for responsible individuals to join our team and train in all aspects of construction work!

GPC is seeking an Project Manager / Estimator in Training to work under an experienced construction manager in the planning and delivery of construction projects. They will help ensure that the work is completed on time and within budget. They will organize logistics, delegate work, and keep track of budget. The person will also assist with and learn to estimate costs for projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developmental position for project manager and/or estimator
• Plan review/coordination with designers and Project Manager
• Construction submittal review/coordination
• Schedule creation/management
• Develop preliminary/conceptual budgets.
• Subcontract administration
• Develop take-offs and cost estimates.
• Job Cost Management
• Coordination with onsite project team

QUALIFICATIONS

• General knowledge of commercial construction principles/practices or a desire to pursue a career in this field
• Previous experience in the commercial construction industry
• A bachelors degree or working towards a bachelors degree in the construction industry is a plus
• Computer proficiency/familiarity with Microsoft office suite
• Desire to learn/advance.
• Strong math skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Close attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good Driving record & Valid Driver's License
