Job summary

CANUSA EPC LLC is seeking a motivated Project Manager I to lead EPC projects across upstream, midstream, and industrial oil & gas sectors. The role covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning support, and closeout with a focus on safety, quality, and profitability.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage TIC estimates and cash flow, and serve as the primary client contact while supporting business development and proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical or related engineering field.
  • 5–10 years of EPC/PM experience in oil & gas facilities, pipelines, or related infrastructure.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction projects.

Responsibilities

PROJECT MANAGER EPC

CANUSA EPC LLC is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager I to lead the successful execution of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects within the upstream, midstream, and industrial oil & gas sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanical, chemical, civil, or electrical engineering, along with demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary EPC projects.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in engineering and project management roles supporting oil & gas facilities, pipelines, compression, gas processing, and related infrastructure projects. The Project Manager I will be responsible for leading projects through all phases of execution including engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning support, and project closeout while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

The Project Manager I is responsible for planning, budgeting, forecasting, documenting, and overseeing the successful execution of EPC projects while ensuring project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, scope, and profitability are achieved. This role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, technical understanding, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, automation, and operations teams.

This position will also serve as a client-facing representative of CANUSA EPC LLC, supporting business development activities, maintaining existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and preparing proposals and estimates for future work. The Project Manager I may be required to travel to customer sites, project locations, fabrication facilities, construction sites, industry events, and client meetings throughout the United States and Canada

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate effectively with Clients, Vendors, Contractors, and Project Stakeholders
  • Develop and execute Project Execution Plans, Work Breakdown Structures, Risk Registers, and Project Documentation
  • Plan, oversee, and manage Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, and Commissioning activities
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, and overall financial performance
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software
  • Develop TIC estimates, project forecasts, cashflow projections, and project performance reports
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
  • Manage procurement activities including bid evaluations, vendor selection, purchase orders, equipment expediting, logistics, and vendor performance
  • Coordinate fabrication activities and monitor supplier progress to ensure project schedule compliance
  • Oversee construction planning, contractor coordination, field execution, and project turnover
  • Participate in constructability reviews, HAZOPs, design reviews, and project risk assessments
  • Coordinate commissioning, startup support, and project closeout activities
  • Manage project change control, contract modifications, and client-directed scope changes
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews throughout project execution
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and contract administration
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, client specifications, and CANUSA EPC LLC standards
  • Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and client presentations
  • Responsible for successful execution of projects following CANUSA EPC LLC project management processes
  • Support business development activities including proposal preparation, EPC estimates, and client relationship management
  • Promote CANUSA EPC LLC services and identify opportunities for additional work
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, and project personnel
  • Maintain compliance with CANUSA EPC LLC safety policies while promoting a strong safety culture
  • Meet department productivity, utilization, and quality objectives
  • Perform work in accordance with CANUSA EPC LLC engineering standards, procedures, and policies
  • Travel as required to project sites, fabrication facilities, construction sites, and client meetings
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support project requirements
Technical Duties andResponsibilities
  • Review and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering deliverables including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls
  • Review and approve Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Plot Plans, Equipment Layouts, and engineering design packages
  • Generate and evaluate specifications for pipe systems, rotating equipment, compression equipment, process equipment, instrumentation, and packaged equipment
  • Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation
  • Monitor vendor engineering progress and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Coordinate engineering disciplines throughout detailed design
  • Support equipment procurement activities including technical bid evaluations
  • Conduct constructability reviews and field walkdowns
  • Interface with customer engineering, operations, construction, and maintenance personnel
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
SKILLS ANDCOMPETENCIES

To perform this position successfully, the individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project execution
  • Working knowledge of PMI project management methodologies
  • Working knowledge of EPC contract administration and commercial project management
  • Working knowledge of project controls including scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management
  • Experience with engineering deliverables including P&IDs, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Structural, and Mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of oil & gas industry codes and standards including ASME, API, NEC, NFPA, and applicable regulations
  • Strong commercial negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management
  • Working knowledge of construction planning, constructability, logistics, and commissioning
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonalskills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams

Technical Skills andCompetencies
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes
  • Proficient with P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Material Balance Diagrams, and engineering specifications
  • Experience reviewing piping design and equipment layouts
  • Familiarity with rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, separators, vessels, and process equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical and control systems
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation including control valves, pressure relief valves, meters, analyzers, and field instrumentation
  • Experience reviewing engineering calculations and equipment sizing
  • Familiarity with process simulation software such as ProMax or AspenHYSYS
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of constructability reviews and field execution
  • Working knowledge of brownfield and greenfield facility development
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-10 years of experience executing upstream, midstream, gas processing, refining, power generation, or industrial EPC projects
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, and construction projects with TIC values ranging from $1MM to $100MM+
  • Previous experience with EPC contractors, EPCM firms, owner/operators, producers, or midstream companies
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, subcontractors, and project financial performance
  • Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, regulatory and startup activities
  • Previous experience in Design Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Operations supporting oil & gas facilities and pipeline systems
  • Business development and proposal experience preferred
EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONREQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)
  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain licensure preferred
  • Oil & Gas Construction or Operations knowledge
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Passport with eligibility to travel throughout the United States and Canada

The performance of this position requires a combination of office and field-based work and travel throughout Canada and North America. Travel to industrial facilities, fabrication shops, and project sites is expected. For the most part, the employee will be subject to ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
