Job summary

CapMetro in Minnesota is seeking a licensed Professional Civil Engineer to lead project management for transportation projects ranging from Minor to Moderate. You will organize a PM team, direct communications, manage scope, risk, and finances, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes.

The role requires knowledge of MnDOT standards, ability to juggle multiple projects, and strong written and oral communication. Some teleworking may be available.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota or ability to obtain via comity.
  • Knowledge of pre-design, final design, planning, traffic, state aid and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality and scope of projects from Minor to Moderate; ensure timely delivery.
  • Organize and lead the project management team; coordinate internal and external communications.
  • Manage project risk, scope changes, and the financial aspects; resolve disputes as needed.

Job description

This position exists to provide project management responsibilities for projects or tasks ranging from Minor Projects to Moderate Projects for the Metropolitan District. The responsibilities of this position include the management of the quality of the products produced, organization of a project management team and providing leadership for the team to ensure the completion of the products or tasks, managing the communications specific to the project or task; including both internal communications and external communications, managing the risk associated with each project and coordination with the project team to minimize risk and/or manage the risk, management of the scope of the project and the process to change the scope, manage the process to resolve disputes, and manage the financial aspects of the projects or tasks. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at one time.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing sufficient to give direction, facilitate meetings, make public presentations, presentations and answer project specific and policy questions and to write letters and other documentation.
