Job summary

MnDOT is seeking a licensed professional engineer to lead multidisciplinary transportation program development, including planning, traffic analysis, project scoping, environmental review, right of way, and survey coordination. You will direct engineering decisions, allocate resources, and ensure timely project readiness.

The role emphasizes leadership, fiscal management, and strong communication with staff, agencies, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a professional Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
  • Five years of professional post-registration experience, with at least three years at the Engineer Principal level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Technical expertise: Experience leading multidisciplinary transportation program development including planning, traffic analysis, project scoping, environmental review, right of way, and survey coordination, and directing engineering decisions.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and motivating staff to accomplish projects or programs.
  • Fiscal: Experience managing large, complex budgets including allocating resources.
  • Communication/Human relations: Strong oral and written communication skills with diverse agencies and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
