Job summary

Minnesota DOT in Roseville is seeking a Project Manager to lead and manage projects from Minor to Moderate scope within the Metropolitan District. The role focuses on delivering quality outcomes, coordinating a project management team, and guiding communications with stakeholders.

You will manage risk, control project scope and changes, and supervise financial aspects while juggling multiple projects at once.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity).
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Pre-design, Final Design, Planning, Traffic, State Aid and Construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities.
  • Knowledge of MnDOT standards and federal, state and local laws, regulations, policies and codes as they relate to transportation system planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation.
  • Human Relations skills that demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, businesses, elected officials and other governmental organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing sufficient to give direction, facilitate meetings, make public presentations, presentations and answer project specific and policy questions and to write letters and other documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management responsibilities for projects ranging from Minor to Moderate Projects.
  • Lead the project management team and ensure quality of produced products.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications for the project or task.
  • Manage risk associated with each project and coordinate with the project team to minimize risk.
  • Manage the scope of the project and the process to change the scope.
  • Manage the process to resolve disputes and manage the financial aspects of the projects.
  • Be responsible for multiple projects at one time.

Job description

This position exists to provide project management responsibilities for projects or tasks ranging from Minor Projects to Moderate Projects for the Metropolitan District. The responsibilities of this position include the management of the quality of the products produced, organization of a project management team and providing leadership for the team to ensure the completion of the products or tasks, managing the communications specific to the project or task; including both internal communications and external communications, managing the risk associated with each project and coordination with the project team to minimize risk and/or manage the risk, management of the scope of the project and the process to change the scope, manage the process to resolve disputes, and manage the financial aspects of the projects or tasks. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at one time.
