Job summary

Hunt Electric Corporation is seeking a Project Manager – Limited Energy to oversee electrical/low voltage projects from planning through closeout. Job Description Summary

The Project Manager – Limited Energy is responsible for the overall administration, planning, coordination, execution, financial management, and closeout of limited energy/low voltage construction projects. This role works closely with internal teams, field leaders, customers, general contractors, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company quality standards. The Project Manager also supports labor planning, procurement, billing, forecasting, issue resolution, and final project turnover while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting future business opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate project handoff and pre-planning activities with estimating, sales, design, engineering, technical solutions, service, and other internal teams.
  • Review project documentation including specifications, addenda, drawings, estimates, proposals, takeoffs, bill of materials, and scope of work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules based on customer requirements, general contractor schedules, and construction progress.
  • Perform labor forecasting and continuously update labor projections throughout the life of the project.
  • Coordinate field labor needs with field labor leadership and submit labor requests to support project execution.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers, architects, engineers, other trades, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support design and engineering teams by providing information needed for submittals, cut sheets, shop drawings, and design progress meetings.
  • Obtain and manage required permits for assigned scopes of work.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance to ensure projects remain aligned with company goals.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and project projections as needed to evaluate financial health and expected outcomes.
  • Process and support regularly scheduled project billing and assist with billing-related communication as needed.
  • Maintain project reporting requirements, including project start/end dates, backlog updates, and KPI comments.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor project progress, address issues, and verify compliance with safety and quality expectations.
  • Develop and manage change orders, including pricing, coordination, tracking, and timely submission.
  • Create, coordinate, and submit RFIs through appropriate channels as necessary.
  • Order project materials in a timely manner and coordinate deliveries, storage, and warehouse needs.
  • Manage purchasing activities including purchase order requests, subcontract requests, committed purchase orders, and blanket purchase orders.
  • Track materials to ensure availability for installation, verify delivered materials, and coordinate RMAs when required.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure they have current schedules, expectations, and required project information.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings with field leadership and provide documentation and expectations required for successful installation.
  • Support field personnel by helping resolve issues, coordinating resources, and ensuring tools, equipment, and technical support are available.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address issues to reduce delays and support safe project delivery.
  • Escalate project-related concerns appropriately and involve necessary stakeholders in issue resolution.
  • Coordinate project closeout documentation including O&M manuals, test results, warranties, and final turnover deliverables.
  • Oversee final testing and commissioning to verify systems meet required performance criteria.
  • Coordinate end-user or system training with appropriate project team members and stakeholders.
  • Review overall project outcomes to ensure commitments are met and high-quality results are delivered.
  • Participate in company-provided training and maintain relevant licenses and certifications as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the electrical or limited energy industry.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, systems, and tools used in the electrical and limited energy industry.
  • Understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, labor coordination, procurement, and project financial management.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, contract documents, and project scope requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with field leaders, customers, subcontractors, and internal departments throughout the life of a project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with construction/project management software and related business systems is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to train, mentor, and support assigned team members.
Physical Requirements

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

Pay Range: $87,552.00 - $121,600.00 Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
