Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to support the Customs and Border Protection AMO program across locations in the Southwestern United States, including Texas.

You will manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality from design through closeout, leading a site-based CM team and coordinating with CBP stakeholders, architects, engineers, and contractors. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture and at least seven years

  • Minimum 7-years of experience as a responsible-in-charge Project Manager in an Engineering or Construction organization.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, and team building.
  • Preferred certifications: PE, CCM, Project ManagerP, DBIA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Primary interface with CBP project managers and other functional groups.
  • Leads project execution planning activities, monitors project performance metrics, establishes objectives and priorities, coordinates project team delivery, and verifies end-user requirements.
  • Resolves issues between GC and CBP stakeholders impacting scope, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinates between facilities and site conditions for interface and infrastructure supply.
  • Implements change requests during design and construction and coordinates CRs, RFIs, and closeout documentation.
  • Staffs and manages on-site CM team and provides reach-back support.
  • Directs readiness, inspections, acceptance, and handover of facilities.
  • Manages Jacobs project financials.
  • Ensures safety requirements are achieved for field personnel.
  • Travel 10-20% of time to project/client sites.
  • Walks active construction sites, stands for inspections, climbs stairs/ladders, PPE usage, occasional lifting.

An exciting opportunity to join Jacobs in supporting a federally funded program with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) across key locations in the Southwestern United States, including Arizona, Southern California, and Euless, Texas. You will play a key role in modernizing critical federal facilities that strengthen national security and enhance border operations, helping CBP meet the demands of an evolving security landscape.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, supporting Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine (AMO) program. Reporting directly to the Project Delivery Leader, you may work independently or lead a team of site-based construction management staff, serving in a client-advisory role and collaborating closely with architects/engineers and contractors. In this role, you will be accountable for managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality across the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

As a Project Manager-Air and Marine (AMO), you will be responsible for overall delivery of their assigned projects including procurement, design, construction, commissioning, handover, and closeout. Project Managers ensures project execution is aligned with scope, budget, schedule, quality requirements, and operational requirements while coordinating activities among CBP project stakeholders, client Project Managers, DB contractors, and Project ManagerO support functions. Project Managers implement change requests, coordinate/interface with project stakeholder, elevate critical issues/risk to TODM, and manage/report on project status (cost, schedule, actions).

  • Resolves issues between GC and CBP stakeholders that impact overall delivery of projects (i.e., scope, cost, schedule)
  • Integrates, synchronizes, and coordinates between facilities and site conditions with respect to interface and supply of site, utilities, and infrastructure
  • Implements change requests (CRs) during design and construction, and coordination of supporting activities related to CRs, RFIs, and closeout documentation for facility handover
  • Staffs and manages on-site project CMa team and provides reach back support and resources
  • Directs and facilitates readiness, inspections, acceptance, and handover of facilities
  • Manages Jacobs project financials
  • Ensures Jacobs safety requirements are achieved and maintained for field personnel
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of time to project or client sites
  • Ability for walking active construction sites, standing extended periods during inspections, climbing stairs and ladders occasionally, wearing PPE, occasionally lifting 20-25 pounds

Here's what you'll need

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $180,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
