Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in South Florida seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale school projects, collaborating with senior PMs, engineers, and contractors to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes.

You will prepare RFPs, solicit proposals, negotiate contracts, coordinate design/construction teams, and monitor governance and site quality control as the program progresses toward turnover, with mentorship to grow toward a PM role.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years project management experience.

We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in South Florida managing a large-scale projects. This exciting and engaging program will utilize your Project Management skills to design and construct crucially important schools which will educate the next generation of American students. At Jacobs, you’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with the Contractors. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for everyday living.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work side-by-side with senior project managers in all aspects of project management, including: preparing RFPs, soliciting proposals, negotiating and managing contracts, coordinating design and construction teams, maintaining project governance, conducting field quality control of the craft trades at site, and ensuring successful project turnover. Your efforts will ensure this complex program is managed with organization, accountability, and transparency. Your education and experience will be engaged on a daily basis, and you will be mentored in the more complex aspects of project management and building relationships as you progress towards becoming a Project Manager.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis where permitted by client requirements. Equivalent combinations of education, military service, technical training, certifications, and directly related experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years project management

The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
