What You Will Do:

This person will manage projects and personnel, helping WSB grow its Construction Services presence.

• Develop, manage, and lead a team of field staff with a strong Construction / Contract Administration background.
• Generate business, perform work, and grow opportunities for WSB, with knowledge of design standards.
• Provide project management, oversight, and administration on various federal, state, county, and city construction projects and contracts, including proposal development, staff scheduling, and management.
• Perform contract administration duties such as plan development, interpretation, budget and schedule management, record keeping, change negotiations, quality control, and project documentation, both in-office and in-field.
• Engage with clients, residents, contractors, public agencies, and private owners; understand contracts, plans, and special provisions related to roadway and bridge construction; learn contract administration and project management software.
• Understand State & Federal Contract Administration processes and procedures.
• Work within WSB’s Construction and Design Build Services Group, managing and delivering successful projects, conducting field visits, verifying compliance, preparing pay estimates, and producing project documentation for various project types.
• Work on diverse project delivery methods including Design Build, CMGC, ID/IQ, and traditional Bid/Build projects.

What You Will Bring:

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited institution and licensure in Minnesota, or a Bachelor's in Construction Management with four years of related experience, or 10+ years of highway and bridge project management experience.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Preferably, ten or more years of experience with material properties, MnDOT specifications, contract administration, and design/build projects.
• Experience with project, client, and staff management, and willingness to travel.
• Experience with NDDOT/County Road and Bridge construction and NDDOT Technical Certifications is highly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in all weather conditions, including working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, confined spaces, or trenches.
