Job summary

MPI in Columbus is seeking a Project Manager to lead a diverse commercial portfolio and advance your career within a people‑focused environment.

You will oversee budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and client relations while coordinating with design teams, field leadership, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication with clients and teams.
  • Experience coordinating complex scopes including MEP/FP systems.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee budgets, buyout, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Develop schedules and coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and project reporting.
  • Collaborate with field leadership on safety, quality, logistics, and execution.
  • Lead meetings with owners, architects, and consultants and maintain client relationships.
  • Identify risks early and implement proactive solutions to stay on schedule and budget.
  • Lead closeout activities, punch lists, commissioning, and turnover.

Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout, ensuring successful execution at every stage
  • Oversee project budgets, subcontractor buyout, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to meet key milestones
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and project reporting
  • Collaborate closely with field leadership to support jobsite safety, quality, logistics, and overall project execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and consultants by leading OAC meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch list management, commissioning coordination, and turnover documentation
Profile
A successful candidate should have:
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects, including ground‑up builds, renovations, occupied facilities, or campus environments
  • Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and contract administration
  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Experience coordinating complex project scopes, including MEP/FP systems and phased construction
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar industry platforms
  • Highly organized with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
