Job description

At COCOON, we’re reimagining the remodeling experience—making it simple, thoughtful, and enjoyable for every customer. While beautiful craftsmanship is what customers see, exceptional project management is what they remember.

As a Project Manager, you’ll serve as the trusted guide throughout construction, leading projects with confidence, clear communication, and attention to detail. You’ll coordinate people, schedules, budgets, and craftsmanship to ensure every remodeling project is completed with excellence.

This role is about more than managing construction. It’s about building trust, solving problems proactively, and delivering an experience that reflects COCOON’s commitment to quality and hospitality.

What You’ll Do
Lead Construction Projects
  • Manage residential remodeling projects from pre-construction through final completion.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ensure all work is completed according to approved plans, scope, and COCOON standards.
  • Maintain project budgets while minimizing unnecessary costs.
  • Proactively prevent scope creep by ensuring only approved work is completed.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project schedules in Buildertrend.
  • Update project schedules and daily logs consistently.
  • Forecast project timelines and budgets at least four weeks in advance.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure projects meet all township and code requirements.
  • Keep projects moving toward on-time completion.
Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout construction.
  • Build trust through proactive, timely communication.
  • Help customers understand construction progress, upcoming milestones, and any unexpected challenges.
  • Manage expectations with honesty, professionalism, and empathy.
  • Ensure every customer finishes their remodeling journey feeling confident and cared for.
Lead Trade Partners & Field Teams
  • Coordinate and schedule Trade Partners and field crews.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with Trade Partners.
  • Negotiate pricing while maintaining project budgets.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to COCOON’s quality standards.
  • Recruit and develop new Trade Partner relationships as needed.
Maintain Quality & Accountability
  • Perform routine quality inspections throughout construction.
  • Document daily progress with photos and Buildertrend updates.
  • Prepare and process change orders for all work outside the contracted scope.
  • Review and approve invoices, receipts, and project documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate project records throughout the construction process.
  • Work closely with Project Development, Design, Accounting, and Production teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Participate in Lift-Off meetings, project reviews, and departmental meetings.
  • Share lessons learned to help continuously improve COCOON’s remodeling process.
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 5 years of residential remodeling or construction management experience.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing.
  • Experience managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Proficiency with Buildertrend or similar construction management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Who You Are
  • Calm under pressure
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • A servant leader who enjoys helping others succeed
  • Honest, humble, and accountable
  • Solutions-focused rather than problem-focused
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement
  • Passionate about creating exceptional experiences for customers
How Success Is Measured
  • Projects completed on time
