Construction Project Manager / On-Site Construction Manager
About Post Services

Post Services is a growing design-build remodeling company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home renovations, additions, condominium remodeling, and high-rise renovation projects throughout Chicago and the North Shore. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and organized Construction Project Manager to oversee projects in the field while working closely with our office staff, sales team, homeowners, property managers, and subcontractors.

This position is ideal for a hands‑on construction professional who can take charge of projects, solve problems quickly, communicate effectively, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the high standards our clients expect.

Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple residential remodeling projects from pre‑construction through final completion. This individual will serve as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, overseeing quality control, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the construction process.

This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate enjoys being in the field, leading projects, communicating with homeowners, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring every project is completed to Post Services standards.

Candidates with extensive experience managing remodeling projects in high‑rise condominium buildings and working directly with HOA boards, property management companies, and building engineers are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience navigating condominium association requirements, Letters of Intent (LOIs), Certificates of Insurance (COIs), elevator reservations, move‑in and move‑out procedures, building regulations, and project approvals is considered a significant advantage.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail‑oriented, comfortable making decisions in a fast‑paced construction environment, and capable of taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
  • Manage multiple remodeling projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee daily construction activities from project start through completion.
  • Maintain project schedules and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact project timelines.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections to verify quality and workmanship standards.
  • Coordinate project milestones and maintain accountability among all trades involved.
Customer Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners during construction.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through consistent communication and professionalism.
  • Address homeowner concerns promptly and work toward effective solutions.
  • Set clear expectations regarding schedules, project milestones, and jobsite activities.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience from project kickoff through final completion.
Daily Reporting & Documentation
  • Provide daily project updates through Houzz Pro software.
  • Upload daily jobsite photos documenting project progress.
  • Maintain accurate project notes and communicate progress to the office team and homeowners.
  • Document change orders, field conditions, delays, and completed work.
  • Ensure project records remain current, accurate, and organized.
  • Complete all required project documentation before leaving the jobsite each day.
Field Leadership
  • Take charge of projects on‑site and provide leadership to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure work is completed correctly and safely.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for quality, schedule adherence, jobsite cleanliness, and professionalism.
  • Make informed decisions in the field and adapt quickly when unexpected situations arise.
  • Ensure projects maintain a professional appearance and positive customer experience.
  • Proactively identify issues and implement solutions before they become larger problems.
Communication & Coordination
  • Work closely with the sales team, office staff, designers, homeowners, property managers, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling meetings.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to management.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow from sales through project completion.
  • Coordinate deliveries, inspections, permits, and scheduling requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, engineering plans, and scope documents.

  • Manage building requirements, construction rules, and approval processes.
  • Schedule elevator reservations, deliveries, and contractor access as required.

  • Communicate effectively with building management to avoid project delays.

  • Promote a safe working environment on every project.
  • Ensure subcontractors follow proper safety procedures.
