Utility Energy Services, LLC delivers high-value, cost-effective energy efficiency implementation solutions with a strong focus on safety, local investment, and exceptional customer service. Our team is committed to helping communities and clients reduce energy consumption and achieve sustainable results through practical, efficient solutions.
The Project Manager – Client Delivery is a strategic, client-facing leader responsible for the successful delivery of utility energy efficiency programs. This role owns the client relationship, program strategy, and financial performance, ensuring commitments are met on time, within budget, and aligned to utility and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong project manager and structured problem solver who can translate client goals into executable plans, anticipate risk before it becomes an issue, and mobilize internal teams they don't directly manage. Success in this role depends on sharp communication, executive presence, and the ability to build alignment across operations, data, finance, and leadership while keeping the client confident and informed.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
- Serve as point of contact for utility clients, building trusted, long-term relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience regarding field operations
- Prepare and deliver client-facing reporting, business reviews, and executive presentations that clearly communicate program health, trends, and strategic recommendations
- Manage client deliverables including accruals, forecasting, invoicing, monthly/quarterly reporting, and ad hoc analyses
- Anticipate client concerns and escalations, and resolve them proactively with clear communication and a documented path forward
- Lead contract management activities including scope changes, amendments, and renewals in coordination with leadership
- Represent the company in client meetings, working groups, and industry forums as needed
Internal Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with Field Operations, scheduling, data, and finance leadership to align execution with client priorities and program economics
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to completion without direct authority, holding partner teams accountable to shared timelines and outcomes
- Build and maintain the internal cadence — status reviews, escalation paths, and decision-making forums — that keeps programs on track
Program Strategy & Problem Solving
- Own end-to-end program strategy and performance across multiple program channels (e.g., Single Family, Multifamily, Direct Install, Assessments) and drive achievement of contractual KPIs
- Diagnose root causes of performance gaps using data, and design and implement corrective action plans
- Lead strategic planning to hit annual energy savings goals, participation targets, and financial objectives
- Monitor program metrics — completion rates, cost per unit, savings achievement, QA/QC results, customer satisfaction — and drive corrective action when needed
- Identify opportunities for program growth, process improvement, and cost optimization, and build the business case to support them
- Ensure compliance with utility program requirements, regulatory standards, and company SOPs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in program management, project management, account management, or client-facing delivery roles
- Demonstrated success owning client relationships and delivering against contractual KPIs, budgets, and targets
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-workstream programs with competing priorities and firm deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills — able to break down ambiguous issues, analyze data, and drive to a decision
- Strong strategic mindset with a track record of turning client goals into executable plans that hit targets and grow programs
- Strong financial acumen with proven ability to forecast, manage budgets, and analyze program economics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience working with or supporting field-based service delivery (energy efficiency, utilities, HVAC, construction, home services, or similar) is preferred
- Familiarity with utility program requirements, energy efficiency measures, or related regulatory environments preferred
- Experience building visualizations and reporting in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is a plus
- Salesforce Field Service Lightning (FSL) or similar work management platform experience is a plus
- Ability to travel locally/regionally for client meetings and site visits as needed
