Job description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating technical and business projects to ensure timely completion within budget and scope. This role involves managing multiple projects of varying complexity, developing comprehensive project plans, identifying risks, and allocating resources. The ideal candidate will promote a culture of accountability and proactive risk mitigation while ensuring alignment with organizational standards and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects in alignment with Client Corporate Standards, Operating Procedures, and departmental processes.
  • Develop and maintain project plans outlining milestones, tasks, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and change controls.
  • Ensure early identification and mitigation of risks and promote a culture of accountability.
  • Guide project teams to achieve success criteria within time and budget constraints.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Monitor project metrics to evaluate progress and performance.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively to management and stakeholders.
  • Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project Online.
  • Utilize Microsoft Project Online and Power BI for project tracking and reporting.
  • Lead complex, high-impact projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Facilitate organizational change management and provide mentorship to other project managers.
  • Forecast project resources and engage with executives and sponsors to ensure project alignment.
  • Contribute to Project Management Office (PMO) improvement initiatives and onboarding efforts.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of related professional experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience as a Project Manager on large-scale projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project Online or Project Server for project scheduling.
  • Experience with Power BI for project reporting and performance analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in forecasting project resources for complex initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Program Manager.
  • Experience using JIRA for task management and tracking.
  • Knowledge of Client energy, market, and utility business operations.
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Required).

Master’s Degree in a related field (Preferred).

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certifications:

PMP (Project Management Professional) – Highly Preferred.
