Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie, a leading General Contractor in the Southeast, is searching for a traveling project manager, supporting the planning and execution of heavy civil road, highway, and bridge projects.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Develop project business
  2. Work with field management to generate job-specific safety plans
  3. Serve as the main point of contact for the Engineer
  4. Collaborate with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting
  5. Manage, coordinate, and ensure the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects
  6. Create staging, logistics, and phasing plans
  7. Lead coordination of project activities
  8. Set up bonding, Subguard, change order log, and cost tracking
  9. Set up project in E1 and Prolog
  10. Manage project startup, permits, licenses, and jobsite logistics
  11. Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup
  12. Issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders
  13. Assist in development, planning, and updating of project schedules
  14. Lead quality control plan implementation
  15. Conduct bi-weekly safety surveys
  16. Review and expedite material deliveries
  17. Maintain accurate labor and quantity updates
  18. Develop and administer change orders
  19. Review projections, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules monthly
  20. Review and approve invoices
  21. Prepare payment requests and monitor project finances
  22. Meet with city and state agencies
  23. Attend OAC meetings and create monthly status reports
  24. Update project management software
  25. Manage job close-out documentation
  26. Mentor and train assistant project managers and interns
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years heavy civil construction experience
  • Proven experience in highway/bridge construction
  • Experience with civil construction aspects such as earthwork, utilities, paving, and concrete structures
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Experience working with DOT, MTA, USACE preferred
  • Experience managing all construction project aspects including architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical
  • Working knowledge of Prolog and other construction software
  • Basic understanding of financial systems
  • Strong communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate
