Company Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced GIS Project Manager with the skills and experience necessary to be a strong team leader to join our Geospatial Services group working remotely. The successful candidate will efficiently organize projects, coordinate resources, manage budgets, track logistics, and deliver high-quality results for our clients.

About the Team

The Timmons Group Geospatial Services team primarily works with state and local Departments of Transportation, providing services such as software implementations, business planning, and GIS/LRS analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing project leadership and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Working with clients to understand their current and future needs, and facilitating project creation, budgeting, scheduling, and deliverables
  • Demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills in a geospatial environment
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders
  • Developing, implementing, and leading projects from proposal to delivery
  • Coordinating and traveling to client locations for project meetings as needed
  • Managing GIS sub-consultant work

Skills and Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in GIS or technical project management
  • Experience with software development projects
  • Experience working with Departments of Transportation (DOT) is a plus
  • Experience with Geospatial technologies, such as Esri's Roads and Highways LRS software, is a plus
  • Technical project management experience, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery principles
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of stakeholders
  • Self-directed with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience in preparing and delivering reports and recommendations
