Job summary

Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne office is seeking a Project Manager Associate to oversee a portfolio of about 70 projects, ensuring timely delivery of the Capital Program while maintaining quality and financial standards.

The role involves directing project planning, execution, and closeout; coordinating with Subject Matter Experts and other Project Managers; and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage projects of low to moderate complexity up to $5.0 million.
• Familiarity with the Uniform Relocation Assistance Real Property Acquisition Act requirements.
• Experience managing environmental documents.
• 4+ years in project management or completion of Purdue's PM Essentials Course within 12–24 months of employment.
• Knowledge of permit requirements and project standards in rural, suburban and urban areas.

The Project Manager Associate manages a portfolio of approximately 70 projects at the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne office, ensuring timely delivery of the Capital Program while maintaining quality and financial standards. The role involves overseeing project planning, execution, and closeout; communicating with internal and external stakeholders; and coordinating with Subject Matter Experts and other Project Managers. The position may also assist in district and statewide agency improvement initiatives.

Key qualifications:

• Ability to manage projects of low to moderate complexity with dollar value generally up to $5.0 million
• Ability to engage and communicate information with internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Working knowledge and experience with the Uniform Relocation Assistance Real Property Acquisition Policy Act requirements
• Advanced range of experience managing environmental documents
• At least four (4) years of project management related experience, or completion of Purdue's Project Management Essentials Course within 12-24 months of employment
• Working knowledge of medium-level permit requirements and project standards in rural, suburban and urban areas
