Job summary

Alrek Business Solutions Inc. seeks a Road Department Project Manager to work from our Indianapolis office, coordinating with Indiana Road teams to plan and deliver state and locally funded projects across Indiana.

You will collaborate with clients on a variety of road projects from concept to delivery. The role requires strong leadership, extensive road project experience, and a solid understanding of the DOT-Federal aid design process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum six years of road experience.
• Minimum two years of Project Management experience.
• Indiana PE license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Strong communication skills with clients and staff.
• Understanding of the DOT-Federal aid design process.

Responsibilities

• Provide design directives and manage project tasks for Federal Aid, INDOT, and/or local projects from notice to proceed through post letting services.
• Assist with developing project scope, schedule, and budgets for new projects.
• Mentor young engineers and CAD designers.
• Coordinate with other support departments and sub-consultants for all project elements.
• Assist with developing Letters of Interest (LOI) for local and state projects.
• Review and approve design calculations.
• Review drawings and plans for multiple projects concurrently while prioritizing schedules.
• Meet with existing and new clients to discuss project needs and recommendations.

The candidate will be responsible for working with clients on a variety of projects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work independently with minimal supervision both remotely and at the office while collaborating with other team members both locally and in remote offices.
• Occasionally perform onsite inspections that require moderate physical exertion.
• Occasional travel throughout the state of Indiana for meetings or onsite inspections.

Work outside of normal business hours if required for meetings.
