Job Description

Our Rocklin, CA laboratory is looking for an entry-level Project Manager Assistant to join their team! The Project Manager Assistant is a key member of the Client Services Team, serving as a client advocate and laboratory liaison. The role involves supporting project management activities such as processing orders, managing change requests, reviewing login data, coordinating subcontracting, and providing client support. The assistant will develop familiarity with project complexities and assist project managers accordingly.

Job Functions

  1. Process sample orders and coordinate delivery and pickup.
  2. Execute change orders based on client instructions.
  3. Review login information in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  4. Inform clients of sample receipt issues and support resolution.
  5. Assist in processing subcontract requests and manage subcontracting data.
  6. Handle overflow calls, assist clients with sampling, reporting, billing, and relay messages for the Client Services team.
  7. Make or return specific client calls as directed by project managers.
  8. Provide backup coverage for project managers, including email and phone support.
  9. Monitor turnaround times and report delivery for projects.
  10. Assist login department during overflow or coverage needs.
  11. Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates' degree or equivalent experience plus 0-1 years in sciences or customer service (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field plus 1-2 years relevant experience (Preferred)
  • Exceptional communication skills (Required)
  • Self-starter attitude (Required)
  • Proficiency in English (Required)
  • Strong mathematical and reasoning skills (Required)
  • Excellent attention to detail (Required)
  • Critical thinking skills (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (Required)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (Required)

The pay range is $23-25.00/hour, with eligibility for overtime.
