Job summary

TYG is seeking a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead live data center projects in Virginia. The role focuses on retrofits, infrastructure modifications and coordinating with owners and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient execution.

The candidate will manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders and project financials across large, technically complex facilities.

Qualifications

• Live Data Center work or live operation facility/retrofit experience required or preferred; hospitals or industrial facilities accepted.
• Experience with managing construction in a general, mechanical or electrical contracting environment helpful.
• Ability to coordinate schedules with operational constraints and critical infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead high value live data center projects from start through closeout.
• Coordinate work schedules around operational constraints, planned shutdowns and critical infrastructure needs.
• Manage subcontractor coordination and maintain relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance, schedules and documentation.
• Conduct site visits and ensure a safe, efficient and collaborative project environment.
• Review projections, labor reports, safety documents and schedules monthly.
• Contribute to constructibility reviews, phasing strategies and pre-construction planning.
• Spot potential project risks early and develop plans to address them before they evolve.
• Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget.

We are working with a well-established General Contractor looking to add Project Managers to their mission critical team in Virginia. The client is looking to bring on either Project Managers or Senior Project Managers with experience in the live Data Center space.

This team is specific to projects inside existing, live data centers which includes retrofits and infrastructure modifications.

The role

• Leading high value live data center projects from start through closeout.
• Coordinate work schedules around operational constraints, planned shutdowns and critical infrastructure needs.
• Managing subcontractor coordination and maintaining strong relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing compliance, schedules and documentation.
• Conducting site visits and ensuring a safe, efficient and collaborative project environment.
• Review projections, labor reports, safety documents and schedules on a monthly basis.
• Contribute to constructibility reviews, phasing strategies and pre-construction planning.
• Spot potential project risks early and develop plans to address them before they evolve.

What they're looking for

• Live Data Center work/ Live operation facility/ Retrofit experience. This experience is preferred but also open to candidates who have managed construction within hospitals or other industrial facilities.
• 4+ years of construction Project Management experience.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor or Electrical Contractor.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required.
• Experience managing subcontractors and trade partners.
• Comfortable managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders and project financials.
• Experience working on large, technically complex construction projects.
