Job description

Contract | Part-Time / Project-Based | Flexible Schedule
About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with hands-on Salesforce configuration experience to support Salesforce projects on an as-needed, part-time basis. This is an ideal opportunity for an independent Salesforce consultant, freelancer, or contractor who enjoys staying involved in a variety of projects without committing to a full-time workload.

Our Project Managers provide an extra layer of oversight throughout Salesforce delivery and solutioning. They help ensure projects stay organized, requirements are clearly defined, solutions are practical, and deliverables meet client expectations. Depending on the project, this person may also jump in directly to configure Salesforce, troubleshoot issues, build solutions, or support the team with hands-on implementation work.

This is not expected to be a 40-hour-per-week position. Work will vary based on active projects and client needs, making this a good fit for someone looking for flexible, occasional contract work or a consulting side engagement.

What You'll Do
Project Management & Delivery
  • Provide project management support across Salesforce implementations, enhancements, and ongoing client engagements.
  • Help establish project timelines, milestones, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, Salesforce administrators, developers, and internal team members to keep projects moving forward.
  • Track project progress, identify risks or blockers, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Help manage scope, requirements, dependencies, and changing priorities.
  • Provide an additional layer of quality control and oversight during project delivery.
  • Step in when projects need additional structure, organization, or troubleshooting.
Salesforce Solutioning & Configuration
  • Participate in Salesforce discovery and solutioning conversations.
  • Translate business requirements into practical Salesforce solutions.
  • Review proposed solutions and provide feedback around configuration, usability, scalability, and best practices.
  • Perform hands‑on Salesforce configuration when needed.
  • Configure objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, flows, reports, dashboards, permissions, and other Salesforce functionality.
  • Troubleshoot Salesforce issues and identify configuration‑based solutions.
  • Assist with testing, UAT, deployment preparation, and post‑launch support.
  • Partner with developers when custom development or integrations are required.
  • Help document Salesforce configurations, processes, and project decisions.
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients and internal teams throughout delivery.
  • Facilitate requirements discussions and help clarify business needs.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to uncover gaps or potential issues before they become delivery problems.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Help clients understand Salesforce capabilities, limitations, and recommended approaches.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience, preferably supporting Salesforce, CRM, technology, or business systems projects.
  • Hands-on Salesforce configuration experience in a professional environment.
  • At least one additional Salesforce certification preferred (such as Platform App Builder, Advanced Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer, or another relevant certification).
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce administration and declarative configuration.
  • Experience with Flow, objects, fields, relationships, validation rules, reports/dashboards, security, permissions, and data management.
  • Ability to participate in Salesforce solutioning and translate business requirements into system functionality.
  • Experience working with clients or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and jumping between project management and hands‑on Salesforce work.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Comfortable operating in environments where priorities and project needs can change quickly.
Work Arrangement
  • Part-time, contract/project-based
  • Workload will vary depending on active projects and client needs.
  • This is not expected to be a 40-hour-per-week engagement.
  • Flexible schedule with occasional project support.
  • Ideal for an independent contractor, freelancer, or consultant looking for additional project work.
  • Hours and project scope will be determined based on the needs of each engagement.
