Job summary

Verto People is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects in the San Francisco Bay Area from pre-construction through completion.

The successful candidate will manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, quality control, and client relationships, delivering projects on time and within budget across 12-18 week durations for 2-4 projects per year.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience managing or supporting commercial construction projects.
• Based in San Francisco or willing to work across Bay Area project locations.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, building methods, materials, and MEP systems.
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
• LEED AP, cGMP, GLP, or advanced technology facility experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, estimating, change orders, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead project meetings, monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain schedules.
• Support pre-construction activities including bid reviews, quantity take-offs, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
• Coordinate MEP systems and work closely with specialist subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Build strong relationships with clients and project teams while providing leadership and support to successful project delivery.

Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager required to join a leading commercial construction contractor based in San Francisco.

The successful Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager will join an established commercial construction contractor, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects across the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager will manage projects from pre-construction through completion, overseeing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, quality control, and client relationships. Working closely with Owners, Architects, Superintendents, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, the successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to work on a variety of commercial projects, managing 2-4 projects per year, typically ranging from 12-18 weeks in duration, while gaining exposure to leading clients, design teams, and specialist subcontractor trades throughout San Francisco.

• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, scheduling tools, and estimating software.
• Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred.
• LEED AP, cGMP, GLP, or advanced technology facility experience is beneficial.
• Based in San Francisco or willing to work across Bay Area project locations.
