Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking a Healthcare Project Manager for New York projects. You will manage healthcare construction from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of PM experience with a GC, and healthcare project experience in hospitals or medical facilities, including occupied environments and phased construction.

Position: Project Manager

About the Role

Healthcare Project Manager – New York

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Project Manager to join our team and manage the successful delivery of healthcare construction projects throughout New York.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background working for a General Contractor and managing healthcare projects from preconstruction through completion. Experience with hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory care facilities, renovations, and occupied healthcare environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, contracts, and overall project execution plans.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, procurement, and project documentation.
• Monitor project costs, schedule performance, quality, and safety.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve project issues before they impact budget or schedule.
• Work closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution.
• Manage subcontractor performance and contractual obligations.
• Ensure projects are completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable healthcare requirements.
• Assist with client relationships and support repeat business opportunities.
• Manage project closeout, punch list, warranties, and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of construction Project Management experience.
• Experience working for a General Contractor.
• Previous healthcare construction experience required or strongly preferred.
• Experience managing projects from approximately $10M–$100M+ preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
• Experience with occupied healthcare environments, renovations, or phased construction is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
