Senior Project Manager

Location: Downtown Indianapolis, IN

12-month Contract-to-Hire

On-Site

Position Description:

The successful individual is an experienced, multi-faceted individual that has demonstrated success in delivering solutions, both projects and products. The individual will organize and coordinate projects, and programs and provide strategic guidance to teams that is in keeping with Pharmaceutical client's culture and values. Individuals in this role must have strong project leadership skills, strategy and business acumen, agility and adaptability, and change management skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects
• Implement program and/or portfolio governance structures and processes
• Quantify value delivered by program/project
• Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
• Coordinate cross-program and cross-project activities
• Develop and control timelines, product release roadmaps, resources, and activities
• Apply change, risk, and resource management
• Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
• Prepare reports for stakeholders
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget, and with expected value/benefit
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasability
• Develop a detailed project plan to identify tasks necessary to deliver agreed upon scope
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform risk management to effectively manage identified risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Basic Qualifications:

A successful candidate is detail oriented and demonstrates the ability to both facilitate discussions and drive cross-functional decision making:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience) in technical, scientific, or business disciplines
• At least 8 years leading projects/programs in Information Technology, Digital Transformation, or artificial intelligence

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Proven experience as a project, program manager, scrum master, or other managerial position
• Proven experience using waterfall and adaptive project approaches
• Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques, methods, and tools
• Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated ability to bring together, influence, and ensure accountability from all levels of personnel and management without direct authority
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making
• Ability to adapt quickly to complex circumstances and situations, learn while doing, and navigate through an ambiguous situation or issue quickly
• Willingness to follow and enforce a global, cross-functional process
• Assertive, persistent, yet open-minded
• Ability to see and help others see the bigger picture
• Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills
• Effective project and portfolio management skills or project management certification
