GEICO is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a passion for working on complex Finance Technology programs across multiple departments and teams. You will drive teams of engineers with a focus on delivering enterprise-wide products and help transform our insurance business from a traditional IT model to a Tech organization emphasizing engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
This role is a key member of the Financial Technology team, responsible for planning, prioritizing, and leading implementations within the Finance Technology domain. You will collaborate with stakeholders at various levels to ensure timely delivery of impactful projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in project management, working knowledge of Workday Financials, and a background in Financial Services, Accounting, or Corporate Finance. Experience in Insurance Technology is a plus.
Position Responsibilities
- Partner with project sponsors, delivery teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Create, maintain, and actively manage detailed project schedules, change control processes, and documentation.
- Address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate delivery milestones, and ensure timely project completion.
- Identify, raise, and resolve project risks with detailed solutions or alternatives.
- Understand how requirements and design choices impact systems across multiple areas.
- Report on project progress, key metrics, and suggest improvements for product or project delivery.
- Leverage operational and LEAN principles to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple systems, departments, and teams.
- Utilize your knowledge of Finance systems to support current and future needs.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
- Leverage experience with ERP systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Apply your understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to drive solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, teams, and stakeholders to solve complex problems.
- Address project dependencies, negotiate delivery dates, and report progress to leadership.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, and present solutions or alternatives.
- Improve existing processes and share best practices across teams.
- Analyze costs, forecasts, and incorporate them into business plans.
- Ensure system design issues are identified, tracked, and resolved timely.
- Conduct research and analysis to meet requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong program and project management skills with experience coordinating large-scale projects.
- Deep expertise in Finance domain to interpret requirements into system solutions.
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials.
- Understanding of accounting processes, management reporting, and cross-finance practices.
- Detail-oriented with organizational and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience or certification in LEAN principles.
- Excellent communication skills to work with business leaders and teams.
- Experience with continuous delivery and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and collaboratively.
- Proven leadership and conflict management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft ADO and SharePoint is highly recommended.
Experience
- 12+ years managing large-scale Finance Technology programs.
- 10+ years in Product or Project Management.
- 8+ years working with ERP solutions like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Proficiency in Agile - Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
- PMP or Scrum certification preferred.
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $260,000 annually, based on factors like experience, education, location, and market conditions. GEICO will not sponsor employment authorization at this time.
