Amicus Talent Group is partnering with a leading Houston-based General Contractor to hire an experienced Project Manager for K-12 education construction projects. You will own delivery from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The ideal candidate has a solid GC background with proven K-12 project delivery, strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor.
• K-12 / school construction experience is essential.
• Ground-up construction, renovations and occupied-campus projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors, project budgets and schedules.
• Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders and project controls.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
• Houston market experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Plan, schedule, budget and cost control for projects.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout and contract administration.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Coordinate with Superintendents and field teams.
• Maintain relationships with school districts, owners, architects and consultants.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Identify and resolve project risks, delays and commercial issues.
• Ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.

The Opportunity

We are supporting an established General Contractor in Houston with the appointment of an experienced Project Manager to lead K-12 construction projects across the Houston market.

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong General Contractor background and proven experience delivering K-12 / education construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of project delivery, working closely with owners, architects, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through completion
• Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost control
• Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout and contract administration
• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and financial performance
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams
• Maintain strong relationships with school districts, owners, architects and consultants
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates
• Identify and resolve project risks, delays and commercial issues
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety and contractual requirements
• Manage project closeout, punch lists and final documentation
