Henderson-Scott is seeking a Project Manager for Commercial Construction in Houston, TX to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of public and commercial projects valued from $1M to $100M+. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and contracts while coordinating with Owners, Architects, and field teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction PM, strong leadership, and proficiency with Procore or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• This role requires 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• It involves managing ground-up or renovation projects from inception through completion.
• Experience with public-sector, aviation, municipal or healthcare projects is highly preferred.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, cost controls, and contract administration skills are essential.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of commercial and public-sector construction projects ranging from $1M to $100M+ in value. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and will be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, contracts, and overall project performance from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project management from preconstruction and procurement through project completion and turnover
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and financial reporting
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements
• Coordinate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and change order negotiations
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify risks and opportunities
• Partner closely with Superintendents to ensure field operations align with project goals and schedules
• Monitor project costs, productivity, and profitability while proactively addressing potential issues
• Lead OAC meetings, subcontractor meetings, and internal project team coordination efforts
• Maintain exceptional client relationships and provide regular project updates to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality control measures, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, commissioning, owner training, and final documentation

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
• Proven experience managing ground-up and/or renovation projects from inception through completion
• Experience with public-sector, aviation, municipal, healthcare, higher education, K-12, or other complex commercial projects is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, cost controls, and contract administration
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining project schedules and financial objectives
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor management, procurement, and change management processes
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
• Experience managing projects in occupied, phased, or operational environments is highly desirable
